AROMATHERAPY AND MENTAL WELLNESS
Scents directly caress your inner mind, bypassing the critical interference of the conscious mind.
Since the body and mind are intrinsically related, a change in your mental disposition can have dramatic results on your physical health too. This makes aromatherapy a powerful therapeutic tool both for mental and physical well-being.
In aromatherapy, essential oils are inhaled for the psychological and physical benefits that occur as
the oil’s molecules (and vibration) stimulate the brain. Essential oils are also applied topically,
allowing absorption through the skin into the bloodstream. Because essential oils are very potent it
is important to follow correct instructions for topical dilution. More is not necessarily better – a very
small amount of essential oils is usually enough.
Emotional wellbeing is about knowing how to handle life’s stresses, being in tune with your thoughts
and feelings, and understanding how they contribute to your behaviour. Aromatherapy can play a
major part in emotional well-being by helping you to find balance, boosting your mental outlook,
relieving stress and alleviating tension.
At Alkanz Aromatics we promote aromatic breathing as a main way of using essential oils at home.
Simple aromatherapy inhaler can be a surprisingly effective tool to bring back balance and ease to
your daily life. We encourage our clients to explore, study and find personal essential oil allies which
they feel connected too.
