Zoom Best Practices

  • MUTE YOUR MIC

    Ensure your audio is MUTED (you will enter muted, by default). Our classes are recorded, if your mic is not muted your video may appear in the replay.

  • YOUR VIDEO

    You have the option of keeping your video on or off. You simply sign in to the Zoom Desktop Client. Click your profile picture then click Settings. Click Video video-button.png. Select the Turn off my video when joining meeting check box.

  • PIN THE INSTRUCTORS VIDEO

  • PARTICIPATE USING A LAPTOP (RECOMMENDED)

    We recommend using a laptop, desktop or iPad vs a phone.

  • DOWNLOADING ZOOM

    We recommend downloading the zoom software before your first class.

  • PRIVACY & SCREEN NAME

    Please DO NOT share your zoom links with anyone, for the security of the participants and so that we are fairly compensated.

    Screen name: You can change your name and add your pronouns by hovering over your name and clicking on “Rename.”
